    Order (Extension of Time-Limits: Reply and Rejoinder)

    Having regard to Article 48 of the Statute of the Court and to Article 44, paragraph 3, of the Rules of Court,

    Having regard to the Order dated 21 January 2022, whereby the Court authorized the submission of a Reply by the Islamic Republic of Iran and a Rejoinder by the United States of America, and fixed 21 November 2022 and 21 September 2023 as the respective time-limits for the filing of these pleadings;

    Whereas, by a letter dated 5 October 2022, the Co-Agent of the Islamic Republic of Iran requested the Court to extend by one month the time-limit for the filing of the Reply, and indicated the reasons for that request; and whereas, on receipt of that letter, the Registrar, referring to Article 44, paragraph 3, of the Rules of Court, transmitted a copy thereof to the Agent of the United States of America;

    Whereas, by a letter dated 12 October 2022, the Agent of the United States of America indicated that his Government had no objection to the extension of the time-limit requested by the Islamic Republic of Iran "so long as the United States [was] also accorded an additional month for the filing of its Rejoinder until Monday, October 23, 2023";

    Taking into account the agreement of the Parties,

    Extends to 21 December 2022 the time-limit for the filing of the Reply of the Islamic Republic of Iran;

    Extends to 23 October 2023 the time-limit for the filing of the Rejoinder of the United States of America; and

    Reserves the subsequent procedure for further decision.

    Done in English and in French, the English text being authoritative, at the Peace Palace, The Hague, this twentieth day of October, two thousand and twenty-two, in three copies, one of which will be placed in the archives of the Court and the others transmitted to the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Government of the United States of America, respectively.
