Alexis left the ICC Court with a remarkable legacy. In six years, he literally embraced the spirit of international arbitration and broke frontiers, bringing the ICC Court closer to users with offices around the globe, promoting gender and regional equality and transparency. But his activism—the word embodies Alexis' energy and dedication—in favour of a more inclusive and efficient arbitration did not start with the ICC Court. His efforts date back to a time in which arbitration practice was still European-centred and—as I can remember—he was one of the few French practitioners that had a genuine interest in Latin America. Alexis learned the language, adapted to the culture, never underestimated the potential of the local market and, most importantly, people. Alexis' mission is thus not over. His curiosity would never leave place for that. He is just starting a new chapter. Given his past, we have good reasons to look forward to seeing what is next.
